FAQs

  • Therapy is $149/session for individual counseling & $225/ session for couples and families.

  • At this time I’m not accepting insurance. I can provide a superbill to submit to insurance and you can use your HSA.

  • 50 minutes

  • After graduating with a BA in Psychology from the University of Tampa, I earned my Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. I am currently practicing under a supervisor as a Registered Clinical Mental Health Intern.

I am a 500 hour Registered Yoga Instructor with additional “Kidding Around Yoga” Training certifications for ages 0-4 and 4-17.

I have prior therapy experience working at a local homeless shelter and in the Behavioral Health Department of a Pediatric Neurologist Office where I worked on a team diagnosing and treating clients with Autism, ADHD, Anxiety, and Depression.

  • I do not but would be happy to refer you to a list of psychiatrists that do so.

  • Because I practice CBT and believe strongly in healthy habits, I often assign clients homework to help speed their progress and make the most of their time in session. However, every person is different and has different needs at different times. My goal is to help you REDUCE the overwhelm, not add to it. So if you are a teen, for example, overwhelmed with extracurriculars and homework up the wazoo, your homework from me may look like scheduling a 5 minute break between 3 20 minute bite size sessions of homework. Or writing 3 things in a daily gratitude journal. The goal is to help clear your plate in a way that works for you; not add to it.

  • Yes! Telehealth is perfect for those that do not have childcare, time to commute to the office (think lunch break), or for those that want therapy in their pajamas (although that is also welcome in the office).

  • I specialize in working with teens + millennial women (especially new moms) that feel overwhelmed. Anxiety, ADHD, and depression are the main diagnoses I work with but am a strong believer in what I term “casual counseling”. In being proactive with your self-care and setting yourself up for success so you are able to show up to your life and relationships as the best version of yourself.

  • Unless you cancel more than 24 hours in advance via text message, you are still responsible for the cost of your session. If you show up late, that time just gets deducted from your session. After 15 minutes, your spot is forfeited and you are still responsible for the time.

This helps protect my time, but also your commitment to following through with therapy, which can be hard work!

  • The frequency of therapy depends on each individual or family’s goals. Most clients choose to come once a week, then drop down to every other week, or even monthly for maintenance.

  • In the first session we will discuss:

+your mental health history (including family briefly)

+parents main concerns for kids then individual main concerns (with parents out of room if applicable)

    +goals/treatment plan

+brief psychoeducation about the therapy process

  • Therapy is 100% confidential unless you or somebody else is potentially at risk of serious harm, death, or abuse. Parents will sign a waiver for kids + teens to protect their confidentiality. While we are all on the same team, therapy works best with a strong therapeutic relationship. This is built on trust.

  • If your paperwork is completed ahead of time, perfect. Some people want to come and chat off the cuff where others feel more comfortable jotting down a few pain or talking points in their journal. Do what works for you. Remember that the goal is to give you what you need; so whatever you need for that; bring that.
